NextGen 2.0 security forces helmet

The Air Force Security Forces Center is rolling out the NextGen 2.0 helmet later this year with several improvements to include bolt-on accessory rails and night vision goggle mount, a chinstrap extender for gas mask use and more accessory mounting options. An Air Force Security Forces Center Desert Defender Airman gets ready to ops check an MRZR off-road utility vehicle at the center's Logistics Detail (LOGDET) on Fort Bliss, Texas. Before LOGDET became fully operational in 2017, deployable security forces equipment was scattered at installations across the Air Force enterprise with each unit inventorying and shipping to a middle location for consolidation before being sent downrange to Defenders who needed.
