Desert Defender Logistics Detail

An Air Force Security Forces Center Desert Defender Airman gets ready to ops check an MRZR off-road utility vehicle at the center's Logistics Detail (LOGDET) on Fort Bliss, Texas. Before LOGDET became fully operational in 2017, deployable security forces equipment was scattered at installations across the Air Force enterprise with each unit inventorying and shipping to a middle location for consolidation before being sent downrange to Defenders who needed. The centralized logistics hub now sustains, maintains and deploys capability-based equipment in more than 700 unit type codes to include Base Defense Operating Centers, Sentry Towers, Mobile Armories, Entry Control Points and MRZRs.
